Taking a moment to breath
My life and schedule has changed a lot. I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of a lot of things. Life keeps you busy but sometimes its important to take a moment to breath. I was on my way to training in a rush and I saw the Brown Pelican the Nation's Bird. Often times I see it perched on an old sinking ship, but today it walked along the bay. In that moment I saw the beauty of taking a moment to just appreciate a moment of solace. When is the last time you have tried that?
I'm living and experience the beauty of change and the moments that make it possible.

HIV/AIDS and Edutainment
I participated in a HIV/AIDS conference and met great people and learned some new things.
Yes you read the title correctly Edutainment (education+entertaiment).Edutainment is a new way to create a safe place to talk about issues by keeping it short, spicy, clear and to the point. I will definitely be using edutainment for my current projects.
According to wiki:
Educational games are games that have been designed to teach people about a certain subject, expand concepts, reinforce development, understand an historical event or culture, or assist them in learning a skill as they play.
We were trained by a great group called Ashe. You should check them out here Ashe
I experience the beauty of networking and stepping out of the box.

Changes
“The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle disappointment along the way.”- Robert Kiyosaki
This week has been a very hectic with a lot of new changes. However, my new outlook on life has helped me adjust. Like I always say "I have to master these stepping stones before I can cross raging waters". I am experiencing change and the power of adjustment.

New Beginnings
The new school year will be resuming next week and I'm feeling refreshed after a relaxing vacation off island. I am interested to see where this new year will take me and the next photos it will bring. I think I'm getting the hang of taking photos that capture moments and create experiences.

Ziplining
So ziplining has been on my bucket list forever (soon to be a post). So,when my parents came to visit me for my birthday I was ready to go :D. My dad was a great sport and we ziplined and went on a rainforest tour. It was great and the beauty of seeing nature how God made it, is breathtaking. Until next time
New Beginnings
Hey All,
I know it has been over a month and I have been a bad blogger. However, life has been pretty crazy but Im going to try and step things up. This is the program for the first ever dance recital at Cayon High School. It was amazing to see hard work grow into talent. I experienced transformation.

Nevis Water Source
This past weekend I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and hike. Going on a hike was one of the things on my bucket list. I am glad I was able to cross it off. However, anybody that knows me is fully aware that I am clumsy, I dont really like nature, and I am a little directionally challenged. I was asked by a fellow Peace Corps Volunteer to go hiking, the hike was a level 3 in difficulty. I did get a little dirty, but I did get some great pictures. Everyone was very shocked when they found out I went on a hike. A fellow volunteer told me something that has truly stuck with me. She said " You have found the new definition of how you choose to describe yourself". I have experienced the beauty of self-discovery and clarity.

My Secondary Project
The month of June has been a busy month and I decided to stop by with an update. I have been volunteering with the National AIDS Secretariat (NAS) for nine months. NAS has participated in Community Testing Days throughout the island. In addition to an IT Techno Village Show which allowed the community and other businesses to see the website and Facebook page. If you get a chance check out nachaskn.org and http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nachaskn/204719879564965?ref=ts&sk=wall. The Community Testing Days offer convenience (local health centre or in town), good price (free of charge), and quick results (2 hours). I am experiencing the work of change agents.

A Breath of Fresh Air
A few weeks ago all the volunteers were invited to fellowship on our Sister Island Nevis. We all had a great time eating and reflecting on the work of the Peace Corps volunteers that have come before us. I find it very humbling that one day I will be included in the Peace Corps directory of past volunteers. This experience has given me the ability to reflect on the person I was and the person that I would like to become. I believe that I am truly blessed to have such great people helpng me along this journey. I am experiencing transformation.

However I am going to try and spice this blog up. I am living present in the moment and I plan to take you with me.

Opportunity..what does it all really mean?
Opportunity is something that we all receive, but what do make of it?
You shouldnt allow your past habits to dictate your present situation
However opportunity comes and empowers those who are ready
And if you aren't ready it will go onto the next person
I live by the words of Samuel Gresham the President of the Columbus Urban League at the time I was
apart of Achievement Matters
He told us that we would remember the five P's for the rest of our lives
I dont believe in the phrase "Practice makes Perfect"
Practice makes you prepared for opportunity
Remember the Five P's
"Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance" - Sam Gresham
Nevis Ferry Terminal
I love all of the artwork at the Ferry makes the wait not so bad. I travel from Nevis to St.Kitts on Mark Twain... who would have thought?
Imagine
I attended and performed at Imagine. This celebration of talent was all for a good cause to help the Pink Lily and Voices of Women in Nevis. Great talent, dancing, and appreciation for a great cause. I experienced the foundation of opportunity and its ability to create change.

Ms. Saint Kitts
I went to the Ms. St Kitts Pageant which was hosted by Miss Jamaica 2010. I had a great time each woman participated in each event there was an interview, talent, swimwear, costume, and evening wear. One of my favorite costumes was the girl who had a windmill on her back that spun :) It was interesting to see how the pride of the Federation is celebrated through artistic expression i.e. costumes. The former Ms. St. Kitts took her last walk and the new Ms. St. Kitts was crowned by the Prime Minister for the Federation. I experienced my first pageant and I have to say it was an interesting and exciting moment.
